The completion of a youth manual for Youth Ministry Coordinators jointly sponsored by Council for World Mission (CWM) and Caribbean and Caribbean and North America Council for Mission (CANACOM), was a significant point of celebration at CWM Caribbean’s Regional Assembly in March 2013 for the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands (UCJCI). The final product was the outcome of collaboration with the CWM Africa region of the CWM family. The manual, “Working with Youth for Positive Change: from the nurture bed to full bloom” is a resource for youth workers at the congregational level and provides insights to the role of the Youth Ministry Coordinator. It provides information to strengthen the knowledge and skills base of the Youth Ministry Coordinator and for teaching various subject areas to youth groups including conflict management, values and ethics. The resource also provides tips for conducting bible studies and other activities. Mrs. Janet McConnell, UCJCI Human and Mission Resources Manager, pictured here, presented copies of the manual during the report by UCJCI.
